The EGOS Local Hub London is co-hosted by ETHOS and CSB as two research centres from different London Universities and capitalizes on London and the surrounding area as a place,
the subject of responsible and sustainable business, and engaged academic relationship-building among participants.
As the organizing committee for this Local Hub, we have all benefitted from the networking, community-making, and more informal
interactions that EGOS Colloquia afford. We are therefore motivated to first, offer a similar space for exchanging ideas in
our local area, and second, support the burgeoning research community around sustainable and responsible business that already
exists in London and the South of England. We will focus on how the social and material fabric of the capital city and urban
life can embed inequalities and environmental damage while also offering opportunity for responsible and sustainable business.
Designed to be inclusive, our one-day hub will emphasize a shared experience, fun, and mutual learning.
What to expect
-
Spend the day connecting with fellow researchers in the field of sustainability and responsible business and come away re-galvanized to continue working on your ideas.
-
Hone your research messaging by developing a PechaKucha presentation and make new friends during a Research Tango.
- It’s not an easy time to be working in these areas or in academia, so this day is meant to be an informal and fun-hearted social get-together.
- PechaKucha presentations: A series of concise, visually driven lightning presentations. These presentations will be followed by roundtable discussions, enabling deeper dialogue and collaborative exchange on the academic work presented.
- Research Tango: A dynamic series of micro-panel discussions in a speed-dating format. Participants will rotate through short rounds, moving between tables to engage in focused conversations on specific research topics.
- While registration is necessary, attendance is free for this one day Local Hub!
To attend the Pre-Colloquium workshops on Tuesday or the EGOS main Colloquium, registration and payment of the participation fees are of course required. Certificates of attendance will only be issued by EGOS to Colloquium attendees.

ETHOS is a research centre promoting critical perspectives on ESG, sustainability and organisations more generally. It is located
in the heart of the City of London and will host the space for the hub.
CSB is a research hub dedicated to advancing knowledge on how businesses can transition toward socially and environmentally sustainable
practices. It brings together scholars who investigate the social and environmental dimensions of sustainability, as well
as the complex interactions between them, to inform strategies that enable meaningful and systemic change.
