The Local Hub Twente hosted by the Organization Studies Hub at the University of Twente (UT) seeks to build and/or strengthen regional bridges across sub-theme participants and communities that would otherwise
not come together and help sustain the engaged and warm atmosphere that makes EGOS conferences so unique and worthwhile.
UT as a whole but also the Twente Organization Studies Hub are characterized by interdisciplinarity and an entrepreneurial
spirit, combining social/management sciences with engineering and/or design sciences across faculties and departments, which
makes for an exciting mix of research themes and endeavors. Hence, EGOS participants interested in a variety of topics will
find a valuable platform to connect in Twente. The green, vibrant campus is conveniently located in the eastern part of the
country, so attendees can easily travel from multiple regions in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium (e.g., Groningen, Gelderland,
Limburg, Brabant, NRW/Ruhr-area, Lower Saxony). Importantly, sustainability and social responsibility are core aspects of
UT’s 2030 strategy, vision, and mission.
What to expect
- An award-winning, A+++ sustainable building (Langezijds) will serve as the main location for the local hub’s activities and is ideal for hosting inspiring sessions.
- Multiple dedicated spaces for different sub-themes, sub-plenaries, informal discussions, and co-working.
- A beautiful, green campus with ample facilities like various indoor and outdoor sports areas, a swimming pool, various cafés, a convenience store with a variety of offerings, an old farmer’s house that now serves as a meeting and bar space (and where we will host the welcome reception) and a recently renovated hotel right on campus – all located within walking distance.
- Lunch and coffee/tea/etc. will be provided throughout the Colloquium – as part of the University of Twente’s sustainability strategy, all meals will be vegetarian with vegan options. Any kind of allergy will, of course, be accommodated.
- An easily accessible campus by train (and bus) – both Enschede and Hengelo are conveniently located with multiple national and international trains going through every day.
