We strongly endorse the initiative EGOS has taken in pursuing a local hub international conferencing model in support of a more inclusive and sustainable conference in July 2026. We believe that multi-hub/site models are key to the future of academic conferencing. We are very keen to support EGOS in this innovation and experimentation by providing a local hub in Sheffield, UK. Many people attend EGOS each year who are based in UK universities, and Sheffield is centrally located and consequently has good train connections with major cities in northern, central and southern parts of the UK. We want to learn-in-practice about how a local hub can work well. Finally, institutionally, we are motivated to raise the profile of Organization Studies related research at Sheffield via organizing a local hub.
