Important information
In order to join the EGOS Colloquium 2026 onsite in Bergamo, you must be either accepted to one of the Pre-Colloquium workshops on Tuesday, July 7 or be part of the faculty running these workshops.
Except for the two groups mentioned, onsite participation in Bergamo is not possible!
The Pre-Colloquium of the EGOS Colloquium 2026 in Bergamo will start on Monday, July 6 and continue until Wednesday, July 8, 2026. It will combine academic development with various opportunities for networking and social interaction.
Participants attending the Pre-Colloquium workshops on Tuesday, July 7, are welcome to stay in the city for the entire duration of the EGOS main Colloquium. In addition to the option to follow the online parts of the program (sub-theme sessions, PDWs, and other activities) from
the University of Bergamo's dedicated spaces (such as classrooms and libraries), participants will also have the opportunity to take part in hybrid sub-plenaries as part of the EGOS Colloquium program.
Catering, including lunch and coffee breaks, will be available for the entire duration of the pre- and main Colloquium. Moreover, during the entire week, the onsite program will include early-morning and evening sports activities in collaboration with CUS Bergamo, such as Yoga, postural gymnastics, or running along the Venetian walls. Opportunities to explore the rich culture of Bergamo will be offered on Thursday evening.
Monday July 6 – Welcome & Social Activities
The pre-Colloquium will open on Monday afternoon with the opening of the registration desk, for general welcome procedures, followed by a variety of welcome activities to foster informal connections among the participants
of the workshops on Tuesday.
In the evening, a welcome aperitivo will offer additional opportunities to engage with colleagues onsite and to celebrate the beginning of the Colloquium week.
Tuesday July 7 – Pre-Colloquium Workshops
Tuesday will be fully dedicated to the Pre-Colloquium workshops that will fill the entire day. Both workshops aim to support scholarly development and future collaboration among participants
from diverse academic backgrounds and career stages.
The workshops will be accompanied by coffee breaks and lunch, which is included in the Colloquium registration fee, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable onsite experience.
At the end of the day's activities, guided walks and informal visits will introduce attendees to the beauty, culture, and history of Bergamo, offering the opportunity to explore the city through the eyes of a local.
The day will close with an optional self-paid dinner to further develop relations that were formed during the day in an informal setting.
Wednesday July 8 – PDWs, EGOS Networks & Opening Ceremony
The Pre-Colloquium Workshops (PDWs) as well as the Strategy-as-Practice (SAP) Community Day and the EGOS Feminist Network Meeting will be held in an online only setup, with the exception of the official EGOS Opening Ceremony 2026, which will be broadcast live from Bergamo in a hybrid setting. More information on workshops and network meetings will follow from January 2026 onward.
Although the Wednesday program will be conducted virtually, the University of Bergamo will provide several rooms for participants of the Tuesday workshops who stay in Bergamo and wish to follow the online program.
In the evening the official EGOS Opening Ceremony 2026 will take place onsite in Bergamo and streamed to attendees around the globe. Conceived as an institutional and participatory moment that marks the official start of the
EGOS Colloquium 2026.
The ceremony will bring together participants in Bergamo, Local hub attendees, and everyone who will attend the Colloquium individually, fostering from the outset an atmosphere of connection
and engagement among participants.
