The Leuphana LOST (Leuphana Organization & Societal Transformation) group organizes an EGOS Local Hub in Lüneburg, Germany to foster regional academic exchange and strengthen connections between organizational scholars in Northern Germany (Lower-Saxony, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein). The hub will provide a vibrant space for scholars who wish to engage actively with the LOST–EGOS community during the online Colloquium. With more than 30 local scholars who are actively engaged in the EGOS community, the LOST hub will be a fun and intellectually stimulating local setting.

What to expect

  • Larger rooms for streamed plenary sessions and smaller rooms for sub-theme discussions.

  • Conference rooms equipped with high-speed internet, projectors, microphones, and hybrid-streaming infrastructure.

  • Dedicated hub space with open seating for informal discussions and co-working.
  • Catering and hospitality services, including vegetarian/vegan options.
  • Support staff and student assistants to help with logistics and on-site registration.
  • Locally curated activities in and around the beautiful old town of Lüneburg that embody the EGOS spirit of dialogue, collegiality, and community-building.
  • Lüneburg, located only 30 minutes by train from Hamburg, offers convenient access, a charming medieval city center, and a range of affordable accommodation options.

Schedule (outline)

  • The Leuphana Local Hub will run from July 8–11, 2026, combining participation in the online EGOS Colloquium program with locally hosted sessions and social activities.

  • The program will open on Wednesday evening with a local get-together and welcome reception, followed by the official EGOS Opening Ceremony streamed live, and an informal dinner in Lüneburg’s Old Town to encourage networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

  • On Thursday and Friday, participants will attend the regular online sub-theme sessions (Time Corridors 1–4) from Leuphana’s campus, using equipped rooms to foster shared discussions and hybrid engagement.
  • During the lunch breaks, we will offer parallel sub-plenaries and an additional academic activity, for example, a “Meet the Editors” session with an editor from Organization Studies (TBD) to connect early-career researchers with editors and senior scholars. A short socializing slot on Friday afternoon will further encourage informal exchange.
  • Each evening, participants will be invited to join a self-paid group dinner in Lüneburg’s Old Town.
  • The hub will close on Saturday with participation in the final online sessions and a local closing lunch on campus."
